Off The Beaten Path And Onto The Segway Path

While taking a bike ride at the Biltmore Estate, we discovered a little trail off of the Deer Park Trail. We typically run this direction toward the Bass Pond which is the path off to the right in the picture below.  We never pay any attention to the double lane path on the left.  But with no one else around, we decided to check it out.  I just wish we had taken along our nice camera, but we weren't planning on taking any pictures...

Come to find out it's a path used for the Segway tours which takes you up a moderate hill and has beautiful views of the estate property, French Broad River and the house.  Bart's taking in the view of the river off in the distance...

Someone went to a lot of trouble to plant corn up here...

Very nice view of the house...

Our awesome bikes...

Found a perfect turkey feather along the way...

And after our ride, we picked up veggie wraps at the Creamery and a scoop of ice cream for dessert. Bart had dark chocolate, and I had mint chocolate chip (I know you were wondering what flavors we had)...

So next time you're on a run or bike ride at the Biltmore Estate, be sure to check out the Segway path off the Deer Park Trail.

:-) Eve & Bart
