Running in the Buff

Donning the tubular cap that started a headwear revolution...

Buff headwear is a seamless multi-functional cap, balaclava, face mask, hat liner, neck gaiter, and I will add: do-rag, snot rag, or in a pinch, "get me the hell out of this mess" band aide, tourniquet, sling, brace, or also known as the "Swiss Army Knife" of clothing apparel!

Buff S.A. originated in 1991, in Igualapa, Catalonia, Spain.  Originally developed for wind protection while motorcycling, it is not unlike the leg I cut off a pair of wool Long Johns and pulled over my head years ago in Norway when the mercury was pushing -30 degrees Celsius.

The Buff is available in a variety of colors and fabric weights depending on your particular needs and tastes. I personally prefer the "original" and "UV" models as I can layer these as needed for cold mornings and shed them as the day warms or add as it cools.

Check out Buff here to find one that suits your taste then hit the trail or road and take a run in the "Buff" of your choice!

Happy Running!

  1. I was introduced to the Buff at the Marathon des Sables...take mine everywhere! They're great for bald people who don't agree with air conditioning!
