Supermoon 2013

We've decided to have a fun packed weekend in celebration of "lunar largeness".  If you haven't already heard, the supermoon will rise this weekend.  What makes the moon so super this weekend you ask...

The supermoon is not only a  full moon, but it is the closest and largest full moon of the year, It also will be the closest encounter with Earth for all of 2013.

We started off our Supermoon weekend celebration Friday evening with the 1931 Spanish version of Dracula.  We have it on our U.S. version DVD, couldn't understand but a few words of it, but if you know the story, you don't need to know what they're saying.  The Spanish version is fantastic and footage is superior to the U.S version because the Spanish crew was able to review the filming of the U.S. taken earlier in the day, and they improved on the lighting, angles and shots.  It's a fun movie and if you have the time to watch them back to back, it's really neat to see the differences of this cult classic movie.

Okay, so Saturday morning we were off for a 10 mile run on the grounds of  the N.C. Arboretum.  The weather was perfect and our run invigorating.  We're not really training for anything in particular, just enjoying life and being healthy!  What have we been focusing on during our runs?  Cadence, trying to keep a light quick cadence.

Tonight we are going out to dinner (not sure where yet) and tomorrow we will be up and out early to enjoy the Supermoon!

Spanish Version
 Count Dracula (Carlos Villaris)
already pooped from the partying :-)

  1. Movie suggestion, on the lighter side, Moonstruck, with Nicolas Cage and Cher. Wonderful old movie.

    1. Great suggestion. The name is perfect for the occasion. Good thing we went out last night about 11:15 and saw the moon; otherwise, we would have missed it. It was supposed to be at it's fullest at 7:32 am this morning, but we couldn't even find the moon in the sky! hahaha

We just found a run you two might be interested in, River Bound 5k & 1/2 Marathon at Warren Wilson College. Both are on Sept. 14th. We are going to sign up for the 1/2 if the trails aren't very technical.
