The North Face: 'Three Things You Should Never Start an Ultra Without'

Who wouldn't want some advice from a guy who has run over 120 Ultra-marathons and just recently won the Hardrock 100 Endurance Run...

An outdoor enthusiast since age 10, Hal Koerner has been named one of the top ten ultra-runners in North America 9 times over the last 10 years.  To date, Hal has run over 120 ultra-marathons (any race over 26.2 miles, and typically up to 100 miles or more) and finished in the top 3 in 75% of them.  With first place finishes in the 2007 and 2009 Western States 100-miler- considered to be one of the oldest ultra trail events in the world and certainly one of the most challenging and recently winning the Hardrock 100 on July 13, 2012.

In this North Face video, Hal talks about the three things he would never start an ultra without (but that most people do)
