Here's a brief intro to the concept of inov-8. They have launched a range of shoes that have decreasing levels of heel to toe drop (differential) cushioning and support so runners can make an injury free transition to minimalist shoes. The heel of each inov-8 shoe has an arrow on it, indicating the amount of cushioning, differential and support with a 4 Arrow Shoc-Zone shoe offering the most cushion and the Zero Shoc-Zone offering the least.
Bart bought the Terrafly 303, it weighs 10.7 oz. I bought the Terrafly 277, it weighs 9.8 oz.
(The numbers 303 and 277 are the weight of the shoe in grams)

inov-8 makes three different shoe lasts: Performance, Comfort, and Anatomic. Women's lasts are offered in Anatomic and Comfort. The Terrafly is an Anatomic fit which is based on the foot's shape. The Anatomic fit is inov-8's most natural fit. There is more room in the toe box allowing the toes to spread out
The Terrafly is designed to stand up to the rigour of both road and trail running. A combination of minimal cushioning and light weight breathable upper make this shoe perfect for runs and races that cover both terrains.
The rubber out sole material is made of Endurance rubber. It is stickier than most rubbers providing excellent grip and increased durability. The average life span of the sole is 1000 miles.
We love the Terrafly because of the comfortable anatomic fit, lack of heel to toe drop, flexibility, and they grip the surfaces well. The sizing is accurate, so you don't need to go up or down in shoe sizes. There is no need to "break these shoes in". They fit and feel perfect right out of the box!
