Since relocating to Asheville, we have been able to simplify our lives and incorporate running into more aspects of our daily activities. One way that we are able to do this is by literally "running errands"!
Here's what we do. When we have a small errand to do, we make it a destination point during our daily run. Here are a few examples of what we have done.
1) ran to Dr's office for annual routine exams
2) ran to store to pick up a few small items (used runner's backpack)
3) ran to pet store to purchase doggie treats (used runner's backpack)
4) ran to meet friend for a very light lunch
5) ran to mammogram appointment
6) ran to post office
7) ran to pick up carry out dinner (Subway, brought it home in backpack)
We realize it's not feasible for everyone to do this depending on your location and the location of where you need to go. But try to keep an open mind and look for ways to use running to take you places. This will help you...
1) ensure that you get your run in for the day
2) increase your weekly mileage
3) saves you money on gas
4) gives you a sense that your legs can truly carry you anywhere
Give it a try! It's a lot of fun!
Here's to many happy errand runs in your future!

ReplyDeleteThat's funny! You don't have to run. You can ride a bike, hike, or walk also. Hey Lynn, thanks for being our #1 fan! We love you xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteYou're stuck with me!!!! the only thing thats aggravating, is having to read some code word everytime you want to comment!
