Our run this morning started out at 61 degrees with humidity of 92%. The streets were still wet from the rain we had during the night, and when the sun started to warm the road, it gave us a sauna type effect. I hate running when it's humid even if the temperature is mild.
Along with the weird December weather, we saw some really weird sights on the run as well.
First Bart caught sight of three Turkey vultures aka Buzzards sunning themselves on the top of a tree. I've never seen anything like it before. All three birds were standing still with their wings stretched out. We watched them for the longest time.
Next strange sight was a baby lobster in the road. Bart says it was a crayfish; I don't know about that; It looked like a little red lobster. It was probably some poor kids Christmas pet that made a break for it and escaped. Anyway we got it of the road to a much better home by the stream about 100 yards away.
With all this warm weather, I'm sure the black bears are coming out of hibernation thinking to themselves, Well that was quick. I don't feel very rested.
After reflecting on our run today, it all just seems like a strange dream. Here's to many more of them in 2016.
Happy Running!
