We came across this beautiful little deer during the early part of our run this morning.
We were still within the boundries of the Arboretum, and it was obvious she was used to being around people. We could tell by the look in her eyes she was cautious, but not afraid. She even let us take a video of her.
That was the highlight of our run because from that point on, it was one of the worst runs for both of us that we've had in a long long time.
We made some very poor eating choices yesterday that turned our run today into a hypoglycemic, teriyaki, reflux miserable walk jog. Somehow we managed to still get in 11 miles. I don't know what in the world we were thinking because we always do best the day before a longer run by sticking with eating good old fashioned carbohydrates.
When you're feeling lousy like that, it seems like everyone else that passes you is having the best time in their life, like Julie Andrews in the sound of music dancing through the fields. Seriously? Happy people go away! Can't you see we're dying over here?
Lawd hammercy y'all, let's not make that mistake again!
Well, we're happy we can share our video of the best part of our run. Enjoy :-)
