Shhhh, I want to tell you a little secret. I recently bought a pair of running shoes from Discount Shoes (Brevard Rd). For the past 7 years, I've always purchased my shoes from our local running store, so right now I'm feeling a tad guilty, like I've cheated, must be from my Roman Catholic upbringing.
There's a shop next to Discount Shoes where I purchase my scrub uniforms for work, and since money's been a little tight recently, I thought, "well, let me just go on over here and see what they got going on". First of all, the store is huge, and secondly, they carry every type of shoe, boot, flip flop, and socks for kids, guys and gals. It's like a one stop shop for your feet.
I probably could have spent the entire weekend browsing, and trying on shoes, and day dreaming of becoming the "Imelda Marcos" of Asheville!
But I really only needed one pair of running shoes, sigh...
I have no idea who these happy people are, but I'm pretty sure the guy on the phone is saying, "Maude, you gotta get over here honey and check this place out, and bring us some lunch while you're at it!"
I settled on a snazzy pair of Brooks Pure Grit Trail shoes and saved myself $20 off regular retail price!
... Ahhhh, but one can always dream of becoming The First Lady of Shoes :-)
