Arbor Trace Trail Run

What a perfect day for a run. Sunshine, 68 degrees and a light breeze.  Today we headed over to the Biltmore Estate and ran the Arbor Trace Trail...

Now that it's fall, the corn fields are all brown and dying.

At times our run was like a train with Bart being the engine, Shadow in the middle, and me the caboose.

It still got a little warm in the sun, but the shade from the trees made it perfect.

If we could, we would stay here all day.

With so much rain this summer, there was lots of growth along the trail, and at times, we hardly recognized where we were.

Still lots of pretty flowers.

These two trees have been close friends for a very long time.

Tres mushrooms.

Oh, and a chestnut too. We brought this one home to see if we can grow a tree... or roast it over an open fire.

mmm, purple.

and soft grass swaying in the breeze.

Happy running...
