When a person loves running as much as Bart does, you'll never take that out of him, it's intertwined with the core of his soul. He started running when he was 14 years old as part of his training for speed skating, and he never stopped. So it shouldn't have come as a surprise to me when he said last week, "I would like to run a 50 miler... and ya know, I'm not getting any younger." Ha Ha, no Bart, none of us are, so go for it!
So the next thing that shouldn't have come as a surprise to me was that he had already picked a race out.
Okay great, but what I don't understand is if the distance is 54.87 miles, why are they calling it a 50 mile race? Why don't they call it what it is, or at least call it a 50ish miler. Is it just me, or does that just not make sense.
I'm seeing up, down, up, down, up, down, uuuuuuppppp, down, up, etc...
After watching the Table Rock video, I totally get it and understand why this is the race he chose. It's beautiful! I'm super excited for Bart, and I'm looking forward to supporting him on this endeavor because ya know, he's not getting any younger ;-)
