It's a sad state of affairs when my canine is putting more running miles in than I am. Not my fault though, stupid head cold/sore throat has side lined my training for the past couple weeks. I'm definitely not the type to run through any illness what-so-ever. Nope, not me. If I even try to run when I'm sick, guaranteed, I'll get worse. So I just hold off until I feel completely well. Bart told me, "a body at rest, tends to get rest, while a body in motion, doesn't get any rest" He's so sweet, and by some miracle, he has stayed healthy all through my malaise and spent his running time cranking out the miles with "The Great Furry One". I consider myself fortunate because several co-workers got the flu, so it could be much worse.
When it comes to running, you've got to be flexible because sometimes life's germs have other ideas for you. As my brother Bill says,"no biggie deal". So we'll just
take a look over the training schedule and make a few adjustments to get back on track. Coach Bart had me out for about an hour, super easy run today, and he had me hike all the up-hills. We had a fun time and wanted to share a few pictures of a couple things that caught our attention...
This picture is kind of blurry, but some sort of animal has been digging in the dirt, and it also scratched the bark off the small sapling. Judging by the size of the paw prints and width between the nail marks, we guessed it was a bear...
Scratch, scratch, scratch... dig, dig, dig...
There's been so much rain lately that all the moss seems to be bursting with color...
Close up it looks like tiny fern...
Hope your staying happy and healthy...
Eve & Bart
