Morris Broadband Half Marathon At DuPont State Park With Thoughts Of Boston

"The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure.  These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur."   ~Vince Lombardi, American football coach

It's been 10 years since the last time we ran the Boston Marathon, but once you've run it, your heart is always there every third Monday in April....

Start of Boston Marathon 2003

This week Greg Walker, Race director of the Morris Broadband Half Marathon, and Aaron Saft, Foot Rx Asheville, sent out a request that volunteers and runners show their support by wearing Boston Marathon yellow and blue colors.  Come race day on Saturday, no one needed to say anything about past Monday's events.  The show of support by all the yellow and blue said it all.

It was a beautiful day to enjoy our surroundings and run with thoughts in mind of all those affected by the senseless acts that took place at the Boston Marathon.
